DESCRIPTION
Anti-glare unit for vehicles.
The present invention relates to an anti-glare unit for vehicles, which makes it possible to prevent exterior light from dazzling the driver of a vehicle.
Background of the invention
To prevent users of a vehicle from being dazzled by sunlight, abatiols umbrellas located in the upper area of the windshield are used in front of the driver and front passenger position, so that users can place them properly to avoid glare depending on the position of the sun in relation to the vehicle.
However, due to the arrangement of the interior rearview mirror of the vehicle, there is an area around this rearview mirror of the vehicle that cannot be covered by the parasols, and the sun's rays can reach the interior of the vehicle through this area, dazzling the occupants .
Different solutions are known in the state of the art to avoid this inconvenience.
The use of screen printing that occupies the perimeter of the windshield is widely known in today's vehicles. This screen printing is not enough when the sun is low.
In addition, US7001029 describes a square-shaped fabric with perforations in the lower central area of the fabric. These perforations are placed in the extension that holds and supports the central rearview mirror, there being different perforation heights to be able to place the fabric at a greater or lesser height.
This solution can cover the entire surface that surrounds the interior mirror, but the current rearview mirrors that incorporate cameras and sensors in the base or foot of these rearview mirrors do not allow the fixation of this type of solution. In addition, when the vehicle's air conditioning or air conditioning system works at high flow rates, the air that exits at high speed could move it, and it can even make it rotate or leave the fixation, since the mechanism of coupling the fabric to the extension of the Interior rearview mirror is not robust enough.
Document FR2795692 describes a fabric that is deployed from a roll-shaped rearview mirror housing. A manual fixation of the fabric is made by means of a hook or clip that makes a mechanical fixation to an interior lining of the roof of the vehicle. However, this solution only protects from the sun's rays that penetrate the area between the rearview mirror and the upper zone, without protecting the lateral zones. In addition, it presents a little robust and manual mechanical fixation, which is not comfortable to be performed by the user while driving.
Document DE102005020234 describes a system that protects from the entrance of solar rays through the four ends of the rearview mirror by means of rigid flaps that are deployed from the rearview mirror housing, allowing the user what protection to choose (upper, right, left, lower) . However, it has the disadvantage of not covering the corners, since there is an area between each of the flaps that is not properly covered, so it does not fully meet the needs of the user.
Therefore, the objective of the present invention is to provide a unit

anti-glare that can completely cover the area around the interior mirror of the vehicle and, at the same time, that its fastening can be carried out comfortably and robustly enough.
Description of the invention
With the anti-glare unit of the invention, the aforementioned drawbacks are resolved, presenting other advantages that will be described below.
The anti-glare unit for vehicles according to the present invention comprises:
- an interior mirror of a vehicle that includes a glazed surface;
- a support medium; Y
- an extendable curtain between a first retracted position, so that the curtain is collected in the support means, and a second use position, so that the curtain is removed from the support means,
characterized in that the curtain is superimposed on the glazed surface of the interior mirror in the second position of use and because the curtain comprises a cutout. Thus, the curtain is deployed in front of the mirror and remains, in the use position, located between the driver and the interior mirror, advantageously facilitating the deployment operation from a collected position to a use position and vice versa.
Advantageously, the cutout is substantially equal to the glazed surface of the interior mirror, that is, equal in shape and dimension, so that the glazed surface is visible through the curtain cutout. Thus, in the position of use of the curtain, the cutout faces and overlaps the glazed surface of the interior mirror, so that the curtain protects from the light rays that penetrate the surroundings of the interior mirror, also allowing The glazed surface is visible by the driver and can fulfill all its functions during the driving operation.
In addition, the perimeter of the cutout advantageously comprises at least one fixing means attachable to the interior rearview mirror of the vehicle, preferably the coupling being between the at least one fixing means and the removable interior rearview mirror. To guarantee the correct functioning of the curtain, it is fixed to the interior rearview mirror by the perimeter of the cutout, thus ensuring that the cutout is correctly facing the rearview mirror, thus allowing the glazed surface to always be visible by the driver. In addition, the fixing between the curtain and the interior mirror can be detachable, so that the user chooses the situations in which he wishes to have the curtain in the position of use, thus being an easily removable fixation.
According to a preferred embodiment, the at least one fixing means is at least a first element with magnetic properties coupled to at least a second element with magnetic properties of the interior mirror. For example, at least one of the first or second element with magnetic properties is a magnet, so that it offers magnetization benefits without the need to be electrically powered. Alternatively, the at least one first and / or second element with magnetic properties is an electromagnet.
It should be noted that the fastening means on the curtain can be a magnet, or a ferromagnetic element complementary to a magnet installed in the rear-view mirror, or vice versa, thus guaranteeing the generation of a permanent and stable magnetic field by the magnet and a ferromagnetic element excitable and attracted by said electromagnetic field in order to ensure the fixation between the curtain and the interior mirror. Ferromagnetic element can be a metal sheet, so that there is a simplification of the design and savings, being a component of lower cost, and also of smaller volume than a magnet. Alternatively, the fixing between both components can be done by removable mechanical means.
Advantageously, the support means is a winding axis, so that the curtain is wound around the winding axis in its first retracted position and where the curtain comprises a first end attached to the winding axis.
In addition, the winding shaft may comprise at least one elastic means, such as a spring, with an end-of-stroke brake, so that the curtain is locked in the second position of use. Thus, the position of maximum extraction of the curtain with respect to the winding axis coincides with the position of use, in which the cutout is superimposed on the glazed surface of the interior mirror. It should be noted that, alternatively, the limit switch can be without a spring, thanks to the length of the curtain itself.
Advantageously, the curtain comprises a handle at a second end of the curtain opposite the first end of the curtain, so that the handle facilitates the handling of the curtain between a first retracted position and a second use position.
According to a preferred embodiment, the support means is comprised at the intersection between a first horizontal plane and a second plane inclined with respect to a third plane perpendicular to a direction of advance of the vehicle, where the inclination is with respect to a vertical axis, i.e. , the position of the support means is slightly inclined towards the driver of the vehicle, for example inclined between 5 ° and 10 °.
It is usual that the interior mirror is not arranged in a position completely perpendicular to the direction of travel of the vehicle. Thus, the driver faces the glazed surface of the rearview mirror so that, from his driving position, he sees the appropriate field of vision reflected on the glazed surface. Therefore, the interior mirror always has a tilt. It is therefore necessary for the curtain to adapt to said inclination so that the groove is perfectly facing the glazed surface and that no blind spots of vision are formed that would deprive a correct visibility. In this way, the support means has a predefined inclination that partially compensates for the inclination of the rearview mirror. Even so, since each user has an independent driving position, the final position of the rearview mirror is totally variable depending on the driver. In order to avoid the formation of blind spots of vision that would deprive of a correct visibility it is required that the fixing means correctly position the cutout with the glazed surface, thus compensating the variability of the rearview mirror positions for each user.
Also note that the support means is oriented towards the driver, either to the right or to the left, depending on the driving position to the right or left in the vehicle respectively.
According to a preferred embodiment, the curtain is of a substantially flexible material, which is also opaque and malleable. In this way the curtain does not offer resistance to winding in its retracted position and allows to correctly perform the unfolding and winding operations between the use position and the retracted position. In addition to being flexible and malleable, the material used must be opaque in order to prevent the sun's rays from entering the interior of the cabin.
The anti-glare unit for vehicles preferably comprises two additional parasols arranged on each side of the interior mirror so that the width of the

The curtain substantially coincides with the separation distance between the two additional parasols. Thus, the windshield space between the two additional parasols, regardless of the position or inclination in which they are arranged, is covered.
In addition, the anti-glare unit comprises a housing substantially adjacent to the interior lining of the roof of the vehicle intended to accommodate the support means and the curtain in its first retracted position. Thus the anti-glare unit is hidden and in accordance with the interior design of the vehicle in its retracted position.
The above problems are solved with the anti-glare unit according to the present invention, providing, among others, the following advantages:
- Fully covers the area between the roof of the vehicle, the interior mirror and interior parasols;
- It has a robust fixation so that air movements caused by the air conditioning system do not move or detach the curtain of the interior mirror;
- It adapts to the different positions of the rearview mirror to serve all the different positions and combinations of the driver's head position and the position of the interior rearview mirror.
Brief description of the drawings

Figure 4 is a side sectional view of the anti-glare unit according to the present invention in its position of use.
Description of a preferred embodiment
The anti-glare unit according to the present invention comprises a curtain 1 that can be placed in two positions: a retracted position (figure 3), in which it is housed inside a housing 6, and a use position (figure 4) , in which the curtain 1 prevents vehicle users from being dazzled by sunlight. Said housing 6 is preferably fixed to the roof of the vehicle where the anti-glare unit according to the present invention is installed.
The curtain 1 can be of any suitable material that prevents the sun's rays from passing, for example of opaque and flexible fabric.
Said curtain 1 is connected at one of its ends, in particular the upper end according to the embodiment shown, to a support means 5, such as a winding shaft, of

so that in its retracted position the curtain 1 is wound on said support means 5, which in turn is placed inside said housing 6. At its other end, the curtain 1 comprises a handle 7 to facilitate its placement in the position of use
For the convenience of the user, the curtain 1 can be wound by means of a coil spring with end-of-stroke brake in its retracted position, so that it is automatically wound when the handle 7 is pulled down. In addition, thanks to the use of a coil spring with end-of-stroke brake, the unwind operation of the curtain 1 is limited, so that its use position is fixed.
The curtain 1 comprises a cutout 2, whose shape and dimensions co-index with a glazed surface 31 of an interior rearview mirror 3 of a vehicle. This cut-out 2 is necessary since the curtain 1 runs superimposed on the glazing surface 31 of the interior mirror 3. Thus, and for safety reasons, it is required that, although the curtain 1 runs in front of the interior mirror 3, the driver visualizes completely and without glazing the glazed surface 31.
Therefore, the curtain 1 is between the driver and the interior mirror 3. This point is advantageous for the manipulation of the curtain 1, since it is easily accessible by the user of the vehicle, thus being easily and quickly manipulable without the need for The driver takes care of the road.
In the position of use of the curtain 1, the cutout 2 must coincide with the glazed surface 31, thus allowing the driver to have visibility of the glazed surface 31 through the cutout 2. This requires a correct fixation of the curtain 1 on the interior mirror 3. To this end, the perimeter of said cutout 2 comprises at least one fixing means 4 for removable coupling to the interior mirror 3.
This fixing means 4 can be any fixing means 4, but preferably it is a magnetic means, such as a magnet, which is complementary to another magnet 4 placed on the perimeter of the glazed surface 31 of the interior rear-view mirror 3. Thus, The correct positioning of the fixing means 4 of the interior mirror 3 in relation to the glazed surface 31 is ensured by the action of the magnetic fields.
It should be noted that the perimeter of the cutout 2 may comprise a magnet and the rear-view mirror 3 a ferromagnetic element, or vice versa, or both may comprise two magnets. Thus, any possibility or combination in which there is a first component that generates a magnetic excitation and a second component that is induced by said magnetic excitation is valid for the present invention. In addition, any other removable mechanical coupling means may be suitable.
To fully protect the users of the vehicle, the width of said curtain 1 coincides with the separation distance between two additional parasols 81, 82, as can be seen in Figure 2.
The operation of the anti-glare unit according to the present invention is very simple. When the curtain 1 is in the retracted position and the user wishes to use the anti-glare unit, the user must simply pull the handle 7 causing the curtain 1 to unwind with respect to the support means 5. Once the curtain fixing means 4 1 and the mirror 3 coincide with each other, the cutout 2 of the curtain 1 is superimposed on the glazed surface 31 of the interior mirror 3, thus reaching the position of use of the curtain 1. In the case of using magnets as fixing means 4 , said placement will be practically automatic, thanks to the force

35
To facilitate the placement of the curtain 1, the support means 5 is slightly inclined towards the driver, for example between 5 ° and 10 °. This copies the inclination at which a driver has the rearview mirror 3 to be able to correctly visualize the rear of the vehicle. This point is especially beneficial for not creating with the curtain 1 dead angles or non-visible areas of the glazed surface 31 from the driving position.
Even so, each driver positions the interior mirror 3 in a certain position according to their driving position inside the vehicle. In order to absorb this variability and correctly position the cutout 2 superimposed on the glazed surface 31, it is necessary that the fixing means included in the perimeter of the cutout 2 be properly fixed to the fastening means located in the perimeter of the glazed surface . The use of magnetic elements favors that the fixation is immediate and the positioning of the groove is comfortable and efficient, eliminating the possibility of dead angles or areas not visible on the glazed surface 31.
Consequently, the support means 5 is comprised at the intersection between a first horizontal plane and a second plane inclined with respect to a third plane perpendicular to a direction of advance of the vehicle, where the inclination is relative to a vertical axis, said inclination being of the support means, as mentioned above, between 5 ° and 10 °. This inclination corresponds to the inclination in which a driver typically positions an interior mirror 3 to correctly visualize through the glazed surface 31.
To return the curtain 1 to its retracted position, the user simply has to separate the curtain 1 from the interior mirror 3. Thus, the fixing means 4 are disengaged from the fastening means of the interior mirror 3. The effect of a spring favors that the curtain 1 is rolled up and folded back to a retracted position inside the housing 6. Furthermore, if the winding shaft 5 includes the coil spring, in addition to the separation of the curtain 1 with respect to the interior rearview mirror 3, it is necessary to stretch from handle 7 down.
Although reference has been made to a specific embodiment of the invention, it is apparent to one skilled in the art that the described anti-glare unit is susceptible to numerous variations and modifications, and that all the mentioned details can be replaced by other technically equivalent ones. , without departing from the scope of protection defined by the appended claims.
